power outages

A large-scale Russian attack on 16 September caused new power outages in six Ukrainian regions, including Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk. Ukrenergo says emergency repairs are underway, while electricity consumption dropped 7%. This follows a series of strikes on energy infrastructure since early September.

Russian strikes on energy infrastructure have caused power outages in five Ukrainian oblasts as of 9 September 2026. A separate attack on Odesa's 7th Kilometre Market injured three civilians. The systematic targeting of the grid continues to disrupt civilian life.
